So today, i will show you how to do it with some simple steps. But first of all, there are something i want to clarify:
- All the icons must be in PNG format.
- Keep your corners at a 90 degree angle (square not rounded!)
- Do not add shine/gloss
- No transparencies!
Next step, we will go through the guidelines about the required files, file names, resolutions for each kind of project: iPhone, iPad and Universal.
- For iPhone-only Apps
- For iPad-only Apps
- For Universal Apps
After preparing the required icons files with the required resolution for your application, the next step is adding the icon files to the xcode project and change the setting to make it works.
I will not go through step by step of adding the files to the xcode project because this is a very basic step that every developer can do it easily. So i will continue with the next step: modifying the Info.plist.
First, open your Info.plist in Xcode, and locate the "Icon file" entry. Click on the plus (+) button at the end of the entry to make a new key entry.
